At the start of her career, Meg was Sales Manager for Oliver Bonas, a luxury omnichannel retailer and Account Manager for Touchstone Accessories, before becoming Assistant Buyer at The White Company. Meg’s role was to plan and create a strategy to develop a lucrative area of the company. She also delivered executive administrative support in order to ensure that key business operations ran effectively, providing recommendations and direction on visual marketing displays. Meg also assessed and reported on current trends to senior management.

Meg then became Assistant Home Buyer for John Lewis. Her role was to streamline and plan the product development process, organise the buying cycle to ensure a structured critical path to build and source products. She was also responsible for developing the skills of her team members to ensure that her department exceeded company objectives. Meg’s leadership saw her team generate annual sales of £500k on a profitable bedroom range across multiple marketing channels and design a company engagement plan for stakeholders.

Meg was then promoted to Senior Commercial Analyst, reporting to the Head of Supplier Management and Sourcing to design and implement various marketing strategies. Meg created and delivered a Google website to streamline communications, improved team productivity by upgrading existing systems and designed and built an Excel reporting suite for strategic company evaluations. One of Meg’s key achievements in this role was to plan and deliver an annual conference for more than 650 key stakeholders and external suppliers in order to foster relationships and develop future strategies for the company. Meg also managed e-sourcing tenders and managed negotiations to save the company an average of 11% on new marketing projects.

Meg then became Senior Online Merchandiser to develop John Lewis’ online strategy. Meg analysed product performances, devised and executed trading plans which enabled the team to improve online optimisation and conversion. She also leveraged sales analytics and key insights for building data-driven strategy and informing strategic decisions to improve sales and customer experience. Meg worked with Adobe Analytics to measure web metrics, optimise the website and analyse sales to increase conversions by 50% and revenue by 20%.

More recently, Meg decided to turn her expertise to freelancing. She has worked with clients in a marketing capacity with social media and creating optimised and targeted content through blogs, press releases, articles and various online marketing materials using keywords and relevant phrases to optimise SEO.  Meg also runs her own highly successful fashion blog.
